Swimming Lessons

At the end of each session the swim academy pulls out the champion box for the kids to stand on. Once they are up there they recieve a ribbon for completion of the session. You can't read Adam's, but it says, "I swam across the pool."
Which means he was able to swim across the pool all by him self. He is such a good little swimmer. I'm so proud of him.

Swimming Lessons

I started Adam in swimming lessons. They consisted of two week sessions for four days a week with one on one lessons. The first week was pretty tough. Not because he was afraid of the water, but because he has problems with complete strangers. Which I guess is not a bad thing I wouldn't want him to be comfortable spending time with strangers. I tried explaining to him what was going on and that I wasn't going to be leaving him and that it was important to know how to swim.

So the first day he was not happy at all. His swim instructor wasn't aware that he was already a pretty good swimmer. So when she helped to the edge of the pool to hang on to the side. With assuming he would not be able to climb out of the pool, he jumped out of the pool as fast as he could and started running. She climbed out, not near as fast as Adam, and took off after him. Well, Adam is pretty fast so they ran around the pool a couple of times with Adam screaming to go home. I was so embarrassed and upset with Adam after paying the money for his lessons and experiencing the first day. Luckily every day got better with a little bribe. We had to pick out some toys at the dollar store and put them in a basket above the fridge. Everyday he did good without crying and doing what his instructor said he could come home and pick out a toy. It worked pretty good. Toward the end I didn't have to bribe and now he asks to go back to swimming lessons almost every morning. All in all it was a goog experience and I feel a lot more comfortable with him around water.

Fishing

Ryan, his dad and Adam went on a fishing trip at Roosevelt lake. The only one that had any luck

was Adam. Adam enjoys spending time with Dad and Grandpa Jerry. Luckily I didn't have to go. I'm not too into the whole fishing thing....seems kind of boring to me. But my boys sure do love it.

Step Back into the 80s

Madonna and Slash might have some competition. We had a Guitar Hero party at a friends house. Everyone dressed up 80s. Ryan and me are both at the medium level in game and do pretty good. But everyone else there can play expert so we didn't make it too far in the guitar hero battle. It was a lot of fun especially because no kids...yeah.

Rocky Point

Okay..... I don't know why I thought I could keep up with a blog. I don't even consistantly write in a journal. So for those of you who check my blog for updates, you should give me 2-3 months before an update. For those of you who have given up on my blog, hopefully, someday you'll check it again. Now for this picture....The Diquattro Family in Peurto Penasco, Mexico. We were there for a week and it was awesome. This was our first family trip with everyone together. It took four years of my marriage, but we were finally able to get everyone together. Adam had a blast with his cousins. He has only seen them once or twice before. Now when we talk about his cousins he knows who we are talking about and remembers how much fun he had with them at the beach and swimming in the pool. It was nice for Ryan to get away from school and relax. We enjoyed our time there.
