Kasey, Breanne and Melissa

The brother and sisters pic. We don't have very many of these so I figured I better get it up there.

The Annual Rainbow Bridge Picture

Every single year at Lake Powell we have someone come with us that has never seen Rainbow Bridge. There is a select few that think that it might be a once in a lifetime opportunity for them. Soooo.....we end up going on the 1-2 mile hike up the trail to see Rainbow Bridge. It wasn't to bad of hike this year because the water level has gone up quite a bit. It's fun to get a picture up there, but I would be okay not doing it again.

Knee Boarding all by himself

We put Adam on the knee board and he was fine

as long as he thought I was holding on to the back of him....but I was a mean mom and let go. He wasn't too happy when he fell off and no one was there to help him.

Adam and Dad wakeboarding at Lake Powell

Ryan got Adam to stand between his legs on the wakeboard and go wakeboarding with him. It did not last very long. Adam does not do well with water splashing in his face. But he had a blast at Lake Powell.

Kempton Family Vacation

We took a trip up to Kalispell, MT in July. We arrived and it was snowing. Crazy....snow in July. We didn't show up dressed for snow, luckily it warmed up the days after that. We went white river rafting and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was so green and pretty. Nothing like the dry desert of Las Vegas, NV.

Swimming Lessons

At the end of each session the swim academy pulls out the champion box for the kids to stand on. Once they are up there they recieve a ribbon for completion of the session. You can't read Adam's, but it says, "I swam across the pool."
Which means he was able to swim across the pool all by him self. He is such a good little swimmer. I'm so proud of him.

Swimming Lessons

I started Adam in swimming lessons. They consisted of two week sessions for four days a week with one on one lessons. The first week was pretty tough. Not because he was afraid of the water, but because he has problems with complete strangers. Which I guess is not a bad thing I wouldn't want him to be comfortable spending time with strangers. I tried explaining to him what was going on and that I wasn't going to be leaving him and that it was important to know how to swim.

So the first day he was not happy at all. His swim instructor wasn't aware that he was already a pretty good swimmer. So when she helped to the edge of the pool to hang on to the side. With assuming he would not be able to climb out of the pool, he jumped out of the pool as fast as he could and started running. She climbed out, not near as fast as Adam, and took off after him. Well, Adam is pretty fast so they ran around the pool a couple of times with Adam screaming to go home. I was so embarrassed and upset with Adam after paying the money for his lessons and experiencing the first day. Luckily every day got better with a little bribe. We had to pick out some toys at the dollar store and put them in a basket above the fridge. Everyday he did good without crying and doing what his instructor said he could come home and pick out a toy. It worked pretty good. Toward the end I didn't have to bribe and now he asks to go back to swimming lessons almost every morning. All in all it was a goog experience and I feel a lot more comfortable with him around water.

Fishing

Ryan, his dad and Adam went on a fishing trip at Roosevelt lake. The only one that had any luck

was Adam. Adam enjoys spending time with Dad and Grandpa Jerry. Luckily I didn't have to go. I'm not too into the whole fishing thing....seems kind of boring to me. But my boys sure do love it.

Step Back into the 80s

Madonna and Slash might have some competition. We had a Guitar Hero party at a friends house. Everyone dressed up 80s. Ryan and me are both at the medium level in game and do pretty good. But everyone else there can play expert so we didn't make it too far in the guitar hero battle. It was a lot of fun especially because no kids...yeah.

Rocky Point

Okay..... I don't know why I thought I could keep up with a blog. I don't even consistantly write in a journal. So for those of you who check my blog for updates, you should give me 2-3 months before an update. For those of you who have given up on my blog, hopefully, someday you'll check it again. Now for this picture....The Diquattro Family in Peurto Penasco, Mexico. We were there for a week and it was awesome. This was our first family trip with everyone together. It took four years of my marriage, but we were finally able to get everyone together. Adam had a blast with his cousins. He has only seen them once or twice before. Now when we talk about his cousins he knows who we are talking about and remembers how much fun he had with them at the beach and swimming in the pool. It was nice for Ryan to get away from school and relax. We enjoyed our time there.

St. Pat's Contd.....

They had all different types of fire engines. Big ones, old fashion ones, ones with ladders and ones with really loud sirens. There were a lot of very loud noises at this parade. Adam enjoyed every minute of it, especially that sucker I couldn't get him to take out of his mouth for the picture. A lot of the people in the parade kept giving the kids candy. I think that this might have been his first parade and I bet he will be excited for the next.

St. Pat's Day

Okay, Okay, Okay......I haven't posted anything in FOREVER. But now I am and I'm going to be up to date on the holiday activies. We went to a St. Patrick's Day parade. It was a 2 hour parade so we only showed up for the last hour. Adam loved it. They had Vroom Vrooms (aka motorcycles). They were really loud and would intentionally vroom their engines. Adam was all about it, but his little friend Abby didn't quite like it as much as Adam.

Christmas Day

Adam was totally excited about his gifts. He got a train table. It has a track that sets up around the table with other accesories that include a firestation, airport, and contruction site. It keeps him quite occupied throughout the day even a month later. He also got a spiderman airplane that flies by itself using compressed air. Those are the main gifts he got, but he also recieved a lot of fun things. He enjoyed opening his gifts and opened all of ours also. It was kind of quiet this Christmas by ourselves in Vegas. We only have one more Christmas left here in Vegas and then were back to the great Valley of the Sun. Yeeaaahh!!!!!!

Polar Express

In Boulder City they have an old train that engineers run around Christmas time. They decorate it for Christmas and have Mrs. Claus and Santa come through the train wishing the children Merry Christmas. Of course Adam was afraid of Santa. He would wave to him, but didn't want Santa to sit by us. It is about a 15 minute ride along the mountains. Adam definately loved the train more than Santa.
Late Merry Christmas from the Diquattros!!!
I'm always a month behind....oh well.
